Ingredients
Prime rib steak (1 thick cut)
Salt & black pepper
Garlic (minced or powder)
Butter
Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
Instructions
Let the steak rest at room temperature for 30 minutes. Season generously with salt, pepper, and garlic.
Heat a heavy skillet over high heat until very hot.
Sear the steak 3–4 minutes per side until a deep brown crust forms.
Add butter and herbs, then baste the steak for 1 minute.
Lower heat and cook to desired doneness (medium-rare is best).
Rest the steak 5–10 minutes before slicing so it stays juicy.
Serve hot with au jus or creamy horseradish, slice, and enjoy.
