Ingredients
1 lb sausage (pork or your choice)
2 cups milk
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
Optional: black pepper, garlic powder, or herbs for extra flavor
Biscuits: you can use 8–10 store-bought biscuits or homemade
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the Sausage
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. Break it into crumbles as it cooks.
- Make the Gravy
Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage. Stir and cook for 1–2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
Slowly add the milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
Add the salt (and optional seasonings).
Continue stirring until the gravy thickens, about 5–7 minutes.
- Prepare the Baking Dish
Pour the sausage gravy mixture into a 9×9-inch baking dish (or similar size).
- Add the Biscuits
Place the biscuits evenly on top of the sausage gravy. If using canned biscuits, you can cut them in half or leave whole depending on preference.
- Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve
Let it cool for a few minutes, then serve warm. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy dinner!
