Ingredients
Dough:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp instant yeast
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 egg
Filling:
- 1 cup crumbled cheese (feta, mozzarella, or any you like)
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley or green onions
- Optional: cooked minced meat or mashed potatoes
For brushing:
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tbsp milk

- Prepare the dough
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5β10 minutes until foamy.
- Add egg, oil, salt, and flour gradually.
- Knead until soft and smooth (about 8β10 minutes).
- Cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Make the filling
- Mix cheese with parsley (and any optional filling).
- Shape the buns
- Divide dough into small balls.
- Roll each into a strip or oval.
- Add filling in the center, then fold and seal.
- Shape into rings or twists like in the picture.
- Second rise
- Place on a baking tray, cover, and let rest 20β30 minutes.
- Bake
- Brush with egg yolk + milk.
- Bake at 180Β°C (350Β°F) for 20β25 minutes until golden.

- Add sesame seeds or nigella seeds on top for extra flavor.
